    Questionnaire

Many of our customers used a free online tool to create questionnaires. With our forms module, personal data is kept safe on the secure Mett servers. You can quickly review the results and can even export them to Excel for further analysis and reporting. Because the forms module contains a text editor, it is also possible to alternate text, images, and video with questions, which can be used for tests and e-learning.

    Opinion poll

Interested in polling people’s opinion about a serious topic or something lighthearted instead? Why not create an opinion poll? The moderator provides the questions or positions and answers, and decides on which pages the opinion poll is shown. The moderator can also determine who gets to see the poll and whether results are shown.

    Easy to use

The easier and more fun the platform is, the more people want to use it.

    Cookies notification

When the home loads, people are notified that your platform uses cookies. European law dictates that you have to explicitly ask permission for non-functional cookies. Five years after the fact, you must still be able to prove that you asked and received permission.

    Design freedom

Mett gives you nearly endless freedom to arrange the platform to your needs. Not just in terms of structure and permissions, but also in how pages are arranged and how modules are set up. You can also tailor the look and feel of your platform to suit your needs. You can use our standard template, and change colors, fonts, images, and logos, but it is also easy to develop your own template. We have already provided a custom template for such customers as Rijkswaterstaat, the province of Gelderland, Krinkels, WijZijnKatapult, and Naturalis.

    Search

Quickly find what you are looking for. We offer a search function that covers the complete platform. We provide immediate search suggestions, but the user can also click through to a results page. We search across webpages, tags, and Word and PDF documents.

In the documents module, we show in which sentence the word occurs. With a PDF, we show the page the word occurs on. Clicking on the page opens the PDF to that exact page.

We also notice that people increasingly search and find contextual information. Within Mett, you can click on tags, which then shows you all the information with that tag. And within a profile page, you can see everything a person published on the platform.

    Favorites

Quickly go to often used pages. We arrange the intranet based on common tasks, which are items or actions that most people use most often. However, in our experience, users also often browse information that is not recognized as commonly used information and which is thus not shown in the main menu or the home page. This is why we created favorites. With favorites, users can decide on their own which pages are important to them. The pages are made available in their own personal menu. On their profile page, users can change the order of these favorites and also delete them.

    Following and receiving notifications

A user wants to be informed when the platform has new and relevant information. For this purpose, we developed an extensive notification system. The user gets to decide which pages, groups, messages, etc., to follow, simply by pressing the “Follow” button. From that moment on, the user receives an email or message via the smartphone app when something new is added or something changes in that item. This is also shown on the user’s personal page. The little bell at the top of the page with the red badge/number indicates when there are updates and how many. It also plays a sound.
Users can manage their notifications via the profile page, instead of having to go to each separate page to stop following it. They are also sent notification emails for event invitations and for registrations’ requests for approval.

    Personal page

These are spread across five tabs: Account, Address, Organization, Settings, and Profile picture.

    Single Sign-On

Single-sign-on prevents having to log in separately for each separate application. At Mett, we can make an active directory connection to make single sign-on possible. We provice a special application for this purpose.

    Web guidelines

All public government websites need to comply with web guidelines. This is a set of measures to make information more accessible for people living with various types of disability, whether visual, auditory, or motor control.
Whether a website meets the web guidelines is determined by two factors. On the one hand, there are technical aspects (are all elements ordered and titled correctly, for instance); on the other hand, there are content aspects: is a text well-written and is all content accessible in multiple ways. When a website has been tested by an independent agency, it may be eligible for the Quality Mark drempelvrij.

    Privacy settings

Each user can provide their personal information, spread across five tabs: Account, Address, Organization, Settings, and Profile picture.

    Easy to manage

As moderator, your job is made easy with a simple and quick to use CMS menu.

    Widgets

With widgets, you can add functionality to a page. For instance, to show recent news items, or the 5 most recently added document. Decide from which page you want to show information. In Mett, widgets can be created and placed anywhere.

    Global settings

You decide what Mett looks like. Do you want 1 column or 3? Do you want a photo in the header? Want a bread crumb trail or not. With Mett, you’re in control.

    Edit permissions

Mett uses roles to define who can do what on which page. You decide who gets to see, add, edit, or delete something.

    Drag&drop CMS

Creating, editing, and removing pages. You can do it all yourself by simply dragging the pages to the appropriate place.

    Registrations

To allow new users to join your platform, we developed an extensive registration module. You can set up different registrations and determine for which roles they are registered. Based on these roles, users’ permissions within the platform are managed. It is also useful in signing up for newsletters. A registration page offers several options, such as which fields are required and which are optional, but also what thank you text users are shown, or whether a registration needs to be confirmed and by who.

    External access

Give external parties access to part of your platform. Collaborate on shared projects. This has been a standard option in Mett for years.

    Edit notifications

In the CMS menu, we provide a notification module. In this module, you can define per component which users or groups of users (based on roles) receive notifications. This can be very useful to increase people’s involvement with the platform. Users can decide to turn off notifications, as well as choose to receive notifications via email or in the smartphone app.

    Security

The safety of your personal information and data is our priority.

    WAF Web Application Firewall

To protect our software, we employ a Web Application Firewall (WAF). A WAF analysis all traffic before it reaches your Mett platform and can distinguish good from bad traffic. We use very advanced software and hardware to do this. It receives an information update multiple times a day to ensure that it can handle even the latest threats. We created this system to run in duplicate, which means that if one were to fail, the other takes over instantly. Contact us if you want to know more about the type of WAF we use.

    Ethical hackers

We value security and privacy. Because we handle a lot of confidential information for our clients, we contract certified ethical hackers to make sure that Mett’s security is up to scratch. The company hired for this purpose continually monitors us for known vulnerabilities. In addition, they employ a number of experienced ethical hackers who test our software every six months and report on any vulnerabilities they may have found.

    Escrow

It is vital for our customers that the Mett platform can be accessed, even if something were to happen to Mett. That is why we use Escrow4all to offer an escrow/continuity solution. This tried and tested service is specifically designed for Cloud and SaaS web applications like ours. Escrow4all is ISO 27001 certified. With this service, we ensure that our customers’ business processes can continue undisturbed and that client data remains accessible, even in the unlikely event that Mett itself could not be reached.

    ISO / NEN

What do we do to ensure our security and how have we organized that? How do we handle our customers’ data and our own? Certification ensures that the security of (business)information is well described, implemented, and verified. The data centers where we host our data have ISO 27001, ISAE 3402, NEN 1010, and NEN 3140 certifications. As a business, we have taken the first steps towards being ISO certified in collaboration with Dearbytes.

BIR, Baseline for State Information Security

All platforms that we supply the national government of the Netherlands with, whether directly or via partners, are continually audited to ensure they meet the requirements set out in the BIR, the Baseline for State Information Security. Do they meet the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) certification? Have the DNS settings been configured correctly? Many of these settings are generic to the platform which adds to the security and privacy of all our platforms.

    Governance (password policy)

A simple and short password used for multiple accounts may be easy to remember, but is not secure. In setting up a password for a user account, you can see how strong a password is. If the bar turns green, the chosen password is strong.

    2FA Two Factor Authentication

Mett offers 2 Factor Authentication (2FA). You may recognize this two-step verification process from the SMS code banks send before you confirm a money transfer. 2FA adds an additional security measure to logging in by asking you to identify yourself using your smartphone or tablet, to ensure that you are who you say you are. Our 2 Factor Authentication works via an app you can download to your phone and works for both iOS and Android devices.

    SSL

An SSL certificate ensures a secure connection between your Mett platform and your visitor or user. While an SSL certificate isn’t mandatory, we do strongly recommend it. We explain how you can request an SSL certificate and what information we require of you.
